Meetings Town council
meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of Month at 6:00pm
As part of any public and formal meeting, the
Astatula Town Council Members may, from time to time, schedule a workshop during
which they will receive information from staff, have discussions with staff and
among themselves, and then proceed to give staff direction on the subject matter
being discussed unless otherwise shown on the Agenda item. These discussions and
workshops do not take the place of the formal public hearing process during
which all public comment and formal action is taken.
The Council and staff welcome written comments prior to workshops and other
meetings. If you have comments or questions regarding the subject matter of any
Council action or workshop, please deliver your written comments to the Town
Clerk’s office at 25019 C.R. 561, Astatula, FL or mail to the Town Clerk, Post
Office Box 609, Astatula, FL 34705. Individuals with disabilities needing
assistance to participate in any of these proceedings should contact the Town
Clerk at least two (2) working days in advance of the meeting date and time at
(352) 742-1100. F.S. 286.0105-A If a person decides to appeal any decision or
recommendation made by Council with respect to any matter considered at this
meeting, he or she need record of the proceedings, and that for such purposes he
or she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made,
which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be
based
Planning & Zoning
Board
The Planning and Zoning Board consists of five (5) board
members who volunteer and are then approved by the Town Council. Their role is
to hear requests for annexations, re-zonings, conditional use permits, and
review subdivision plats. Then they make a ruling, either in favor of or against
and make recommendations on the previous rulings to the Town Council. Pam
Wiggins from Green Consulting Group is the Town Planner and is
consulted on current and future land development as well as certain documents
required by the State of Florida.
P&Z meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of each month, on an as-needed
basis. Our current P&Z Board members are:
